NEW YEAR 2008

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wow.. lots has been going on lately during the past few days haha.

Went to Hillsongs in the City on the eve of new year's eve (30th Dec). LOL.for the v first time. Nice church. Here are some pics.
Look at the crowd! By the way, this is the City one.. I heared the ones in the Hills is much better.
Babe and I inside the hall. They have a wide stage with a wide screen! Worship was good. We got to hear their latest songs... and gotta like their 'second chance' song a lot. )

Then on new years eve, we made some eclairs in the morning. Man, they were yummily fattening, but awesomely mouth watering. Inserted with fresh cream and topped with melted chocolate... they really are v delicious.. simply melts in ya mouth.
After enjoying them, we prepared some egg sandwiches to bring along to the city to eat at night while picnicing. We left the house and took the train to the city at about 12.30pm.

We saw this shop and it was a florist ship and it has the name flourish (http://www.flourish.com.au/)! So, we decided to take a few shots! hehe.We shopped and visited various shops. Of course,I wouldnt miss the opportunity to go to the magic shop (Hey Presto). There was one indonesian guy,in the shop as well. His name is Rangga and it was his first time to the shop. I made conversation with him as I wanted to know more magicians in Syd. However, he said that he was just on holidays. The guy working in the shop, his name Terence, showed us a card trick which I think was quite good. After that, Rangga and I went outside the shop to talk and showed each other more tricks.

It started just the 2 of us and then later, we suddenly noticed that we pulled in a crowed. A group of asian dudes came and watch. They are aussie asians though. Boy we had a good time entertaining them with our tricks. Rangga was more into mentalism and less sleight of hand, where as I am more the opposite. It was great to be able to perform tricks I've learnt and test them out on fresh audiences. :)

Ok, so yups.. at abt 6pm we proceeded to find a spot at Circular Quay to settle down to watch the fireworks. Bought some sushi and cachos along, along with our egg sandwiches to munch on during the show. Below is a pic of the sandwich and other food stuff (bananas and cakes) in our bag.

The three of us(Carene, Me, Cathy)...
Fireworks!
Happy New Year!

So yeah. the place was jam packed! Everyone marched the roads. At one point we were so squeezed till we felt like floating as if being washed by a strong current in the sea. LOL. There were a lot of drunk people there as well. 94 cases of police arrests were made on that day.

Overall, fireworks were good, not very long though (abt 15 mins). Wished it could go on for a lil longer. By the time we took the train home it was 1am already. LOL... one of the aussie dudes puked in the train. Overall, had a fun day!

On new years day we met up with Eastlyn. Went for dinner together at a Vietnamese restaurant then went to her appartment to have alook. This shot was taken at the balcony of her appartment in the city. She lives on the 24th floor (highest is 25 floors). Boy it was so high up! I (having fear of heights) was a lil scared standing by the balcony and looking down. Other than that, we got to see a nice view of the city buildings.

Nice city view.

Hmmm.. it doesnt look as high on the camera, hehe.
